Summer Camps Announced
Southern Pines Recreation and Parks Department offers its Summer Explorers full-day camp from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Camps begin June 12 and run through Aug. 18.
“We offer great hours and convenient schedules; innovative and creative activities, great value and great prices; and knowledgeable and caring staff,” says Sue Gillis, program coordinator.
Summer Explorers is open to children who have attended kindergarten up through age 13. An early drop-off time of 7:30 a.m. is available for a nominal fee. Weekly schedules give the parents and “campers” a timetable of daily activities.
Registration is currently being held at 482 E. Connecticut Ave. (Campbell House). For those interested in a part-time camp, Summer Fun Camp is held from 8 a.m. to noon.
