Birdies, No Bogeys

Birdie: By Bridget Johnson, fourth-grade teacher at Vass-Lakeview Elementary, who has had quite a couple of weeks. First she was chosen as Moore’s Teacher of the Year for pursuing her “calling” with such dedication and creativity. Shortly thereafter, she gave birth to her first child, Emily Kathleen. She believes in “celebrating the strengths that each child has,” and by all accounts this commitment shows in her work. We will be cheering her on as she ably represents Moore at the regional level.

Birdie: By Kelsey Bartiss, the O’Neal School senior who won the Junior Builder’s Cup award last week from the Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills. Described as “a remarkable young woman” and “a kind soul with quiet strength,” Kelsey is an AP scholar who is on her way to William and Mary. We wish her all the best.
