Contestants Sought for Scholarship Pageant
Denton Farm Park, home of the Southeast Old Thresher’s Reunion is seeking contestants for its annual Scholarship Pageant this summer during the festival, which runs July 1-5.
Contestants must be rising high school seniors through 24 years old. They must be single and never have had a child or been married. And they should either live, work or attend school in any of the following counties: Alamance, Cabarrus, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Stanly, Stokes and Surry.
The pageant will be held on Friday, July 1. The Southeast Old Thresher’s Reunion begins that day and ends on Tuesday, July 5.
Scholarship contributors include SunTrust Bank and Branch Banking and Trust.
The 2005 Thresher’s Queen will reign over the event and will represent it at various events and functions throughout North Carolina during the year and will win a $1,500 educational scholarship. Second-and third-place finishers will receive $300 and $200 respectively. Additional awards will be given in four competition categories: Best Interview, Best “County Cutie” Outfit, Best Casual Outfit and Most Photogenic.
