Viking Basketball Camp Features Individual Skills

The Union Pines High School Viking Basketball Camp will be held June 6-9 this year at the Union Pines High School gym.

The camp is for rising third- through ninth-graders and will last from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day. The fee for the camp is $40 and includes a camp T-shirt and a handbook.

Camp director is Viking boys’ coach Bobby Purvis. His staff will include Matt Hrbek, boys’ assistant coach; Craig Cameron, boys’ assistant coach; Henry Douglas, girls’ head coach; Julie Cencer, girls’ assistant coach; John Lewkowicz, girls’ assistant coach; and other area coaches and former and present Viking players.

The camp will concentrate on developing individual skills and the opportunity to play in team competition.

There will be station work, a speaker, camp competition and team play every day of the camp.
