The award is for the village’s comprehensive annual financial report. This the 10th consecutive year that the village has received the award.
The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Attaining the award represents a significant accomplishment by government and its management.
The certificate is awarded to the individuals, department or agency designated by the governmental unit as being primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The award was presented to village Finance Director Natalie Dean.
An impartial panel judges the financial report to determine whether it meets the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.
