Scouts Enjoy ‘Safari Sleepover’

Junior Girl Scouts from Moore County joined over 100 other Girl Scouts to explore the African wilderness recently during Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council’s Safari Sleepover event at Exploris Museum in Raleigh.

Moore County Girl Scout Troop No. 1003 saw the jungle through the eyes of the chimpanzees that call it home as they enjoyed a private screening of the IMAX film “Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees.”

The Girl Scouts learned how chimps communicate, what they eat, and the traits they have in common with humans at the interactive Safari Sleepover.

The event helped girls work toward a Wildlife badge.

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization for girls, with a membership of more than 3.7 million girls and adults. For the last 90 years Girl Scouts has been dedicated to helping girls build skills for real world success.

Through interactive events, girls can explore personal safety, financial fitness, science and technology, creative expression, and much more.
