As a Republican and Pinehurst resident for 19 years, I am offended by out-of-county politicians attempting to influence our local elections.

For their political advantage, for the first time outsiders are telling us not to vote for Richard Morgan and advising us on whom to vote for, an act of questionable legality.

Regardless of what outsiders would like us to believe, Richard Morgan has served our county honestly and well for 15 years and is always accessible to his constituents. His leadership is responsible for many worthy benefits to us. Several examples are: Lower taxes, elimination of the outrageous intangibles and inheritance tax, and in 1997 elimination of hog farms in Moore County.

Morgan is honorable, principled, and experienced — a combination difficult to find in today’s politician.
