UP Graduate Is Teaching Art
Brianna Cox of Pinehurst is now in a student teaching program at Appalachian State University. She is the daughter of Eddie and Ann Cox.
She is a 2002 graduate of Union Pines High School, and is teaching art under the supervision of Camellia Ferguson in the Watauga County School System. In the program, Cox and her classmates participate in a 15-week course of study during the spring semester, January through April.
Student teaching is a requirement of new teachers to get hands-on experience in the area in which they plan to teach after graduation.
