Morgan Is a Victim Of Own Arrogance

With regard to your article “Morgan Accuses Kelly of Spreading Rumor” (March 9), I find it interesting that Richard Morgan wants to play the victim after he has victimized so many.

This controversy has little to do with libel, slander and damage to Morgan’s character. It has everything to do with Richard wanting to silence his critics. He is attempting to chill free speech by throwing around words like “investigation,” “accountable” and “lawsuit.” He wants to intimidate good people from talking about his antics.

Fortunately, we have the First Amendment to protect us from little dictators like Morgan. Truth is an absolute defense to libel and slander. Further, if Morgan were to bring a suit, he would be subjected to depositions, interrogatories and other methods of getting to the truth of the matter asserted. Does he really want to go there?

The truth is that only the United States attorney’s office knows who is under investigation, and they are not talking, yet.

As a critic of Richard Morgan, I look forward to getting a letter from his attorney. I’m not afraid because Richard Morgan is a victim. He is a victim of his own arrogance and ambition.
