A contra dance, featuring the live music of Gaelstorm and the calling of Jack Mitchell, will be held Saturday, April 16, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. in the old gym behind Flora Macdonald Academy. Tickets are $5 at the door.
“Beginners are welcome, and the live music will be a delight even for those with two left feet,” said a spokesman.
The dance is a prelude to the annual Red Springs Street Festival, to be held Sunday, April 17.
Vendors, artists, and community organizations wishing to participate in the festival should contact Ralph Steeds at 910-843-3559.
Food vendors should contact Steeds quickly to assure the completion of paperwork required by the health department.
