Volunteers are invited to come out Saturday to help clean up a red-cockaded woodpecker habitat at Midland Road and Beaver Lane near the Pinehurst Traffic Circle.

The Sandhills Area Land Trust (SALT) is holding the cleanup from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers will pick up trash and clear out the underbrush on the Johnston-Blake Tract, which SALT acquired to preserve as undeveloped land.
