Shaggin’ in the Pines starts with the Beach Blast Dinner on Friday evening, followed by music and dancing with The Embers. The band delighted beach music fans at the Pinehurst event last year, for nearly 40 years and continues to draw crowds for their timeless style. Their most recognized hit, “I Love Beach Music” continues to mark nearly every beach music event today.
On Saturday, guests will enjoy a Carolina Clam Bake and Chairmen of the Board. Led by “General Johnson,” this Charlotte-based band has been winning the hearts of its fans for 19 years. The three-member group has toured nationally and internationally, and have been seen on American Bandstand, The Tonite Show with Johnny Carson and Soul Train.
Each night’s entertainment will be emceed by North Carolina D.J. Charlie Byrd, legendary host of the “Charlie Byrd Beach Blast.”
Tickets are still available for this upcoming event of spectacular entertainment in the Sandhills. Each night of dinner and dancing costs a special rate of $50 per person for area residents. Reservations can be made by calling Pinehurst at (910) 235-8553.

The music begins at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Carolina hotel each evening.
