Two Face Drug Charges After Search

Moore County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two Eagle Springs men on drug charges after a search of a home on Eagle Branch Road May 25.

Officers seized 17 grams of cocaine, 36 crack rocks, eight grams of marijuana and six Percocets. The street value is estimated at $2,130.

Deputies arrested Fredrick Earl Cole, 35, a resident of the home, and Eric Jermaine Colson, 21, of Ellerbe.

They charged Cole with two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, two counts of felony possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, tow counts of maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, simple possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance.

Deputies charged Colson with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Cole was jailed with a $300,000 bond. Colson received a $100,000 bond.

Antique Firearms: Sheriff's deputies assisted an investigation by the United States National Park Service into a break-in to a museum in Texas.

Deputies searched the home of Kirby Loren Amlee and seized 32 firearms, some dating to the Civil War.

Deputies searched the home, which is located on Plank Road in Robbins. An expert estimated the value of the firearms at $15,000.

Amlee is a convicted felon and therefore prohibited from possessing firearms. Deputies also say the search produced some antiques stolen from a robbery of a Carthage man in April of 2005.

Deputies charged Amlee with two counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny and one count of felony possession of stolen goods.

He was jailed with a $100,000 bond. His first court hearing is Monday. Deputies say that the investigation is continuing.

Breaking and Entering: Southern Pines police arrested a man on Tuesday and charged him with breaking into the Broad Street office of Young Life of the Sandhills four times.

Officers also charged him with breaking into a barber shop on Broad Street.

They charged David Bradley Ragsdale, 46, of Carthage, with five counts each of breaking and entering and larceny.

Officers responded to the initial report on May 18. Police arrested Ragsdale on warrants by the Sheriff's Department.

He was jailed with a $20,000 bond. His first court hearing is Wednesday.

Ragsdale is accused of stealing 25 checks from Young Life and $15 and some crackers from Barbara's Hair.

Breaking and Entering: Sheriff's deputies arrested a 37-year-old Carthage man on May 19 and charged him with an April break-in.

Christopher Lee Nadeau is accused of breaking into a home on Short Road in Carthage.

He was jailed on a $5,000 secured bond. His first court hearing is Monday.

Fraud: Aberdeen police arrested a Cameron woman on May 25 and charged her with fraud.

Rhonda Lynn Hancock, 26, is accused of cashing a $450 stolen check. She was released with a $2,000 bond. Her first court hearing is Thursday.

Drug Charges: Sheriff's deputies arrested a 29-year-old Cameron resident on May 26 on drug charges.

Jamie Childress Stewart is accused of possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance.

Steward was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Robbery: Southern Pines police arrested a Raeford man and charged him with robbing a woman at gunpoint.

Officers charged Montie LaMont Chavis, 24, with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a female.

Chavis is accused of stealing over $20,000 worth of cash and items from the woman. He is also accused of sticking a pistol in her chest.

He was jailed with a $50,000 bond. His first court hearing is Thursday.
