BY Caroline Kornegay: Staff Writer Vandals at Pinecrest High School caused $3,500 worth of damage to the courtyard and property of the school. At about 11 p.m. on May 21, four students and one non-student at Pinecrest allegedly damaged 1,000 courtyard bricks and a memorial stone, according to police reports.
They also allegedly damaged three surveillance cameras and pushed utility carts into the retaining pond behind the school.
The names of the students, as minors, were not released when they were arrested May 22. The five people were charged with injury to real property and second-degree trespassing, according to the police.
The damage included $2,000 for cameras, $1,000 for the bricks and $500 for the memorial stone.
