Ina M. Boggs

Ina Mae Boggs, 84, of Lakeview, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with the Rev. Greg Poplin officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday (today) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Born March 1, 1922, in Laurel Hill, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Bessie Caulder, and the wife of the late Samuel Roy Boggs. She retired from the Pride-Timble Company, served as judge for the Little River Precinct for 10 years, and wrote a column for The Pilot newspaper since 1986. She was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and served as treasurer, was on the council board and nominating committee, and sang in the choir for several years.

Mrs. Boggs is survived by her two sons, Michael Oliver of Cleveland, Ohio, and Freddie McKenzie of Lakeview; one brother, Alfred Caulder Jr. of Huntersville; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Parrish and Brent; and one great-granddaughter, Rebecca.
