The break-ins occurred Feb. 2 and May 28. Several packages of meat had been stolen.
On June 11, deputies stopped a suspicious vehicle near the Moore County Airport. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in the May 28 Midway Grill break-in.
Further investigation revealed that the two men in the vehicle were from Sanford.
Sammy Glenn Nunnery, 16, told deputies that he and the driver, Barry Eugene Smith, 39, had been involved in several break-ins in Sanford and Lee County.
Nunnery also gave information that led deputies to charge Smith in the two Midway Grill break-ins.
As a result of the investigation, Sanford police charged both men with more than 30 felony restaurant and business break-ins. Moore County deputies charged Nunnery with possession of burglary tools.
He was jailed with a $5,000 bond.
Deputies also charged Smith with possession of burglary tools, possession of cocaine, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felony larceny and two counts of possession of stolen goods.
In addition, they charged him with several motor vehicle violations. His bond was set at $45,000.
Drug Charges: Aberdeen police arrested two men on drug charges June 11.
Officers seized three plastic bags of cocaine, 26 doses of Klonopin and some marijuana.
They charged Cedrick Deshaun Graham, 22, and Xandrian Deon Brunson, 25, both of Aberdeen, with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance.
They also charged Graham with possession of marijuana.
Both were jailed. Graham has a $15,000 bond, while Brunson has a $10,000 bond.
Breaking and Entering: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Carthage man June 12 and charged him with two break-ins to a Vass-Carthage Road home.
The home owner first reported a break-in and theft of a firearm May 16. On June 12, he reported another and said that some jewelry had been stolen.
Deputies arrested William Zachary McMillian, 21, and charged him with second-degree burglary, breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed with a $50,000 bond. His first court hearing is June 29.
In addition, sheriff’s deputies received a report May 12 of a break-in at a residence on Current Street in Pinebluff. Four rings, a Playstation and $50 cash were taken.
Deputies charged McMillian in this break-in, resulting in additional counts of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. His bond was increased by $30,000.
On Wednesday, deputies charged him with breaking into a home on Bachelor Farm Road and stealing a collectible knife set. He was charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen property. His bond was increased by $5,000.
Stolen Car: Vass police arrested a High Point man and charged him with stealing a car on March 17.
Deputies said Jerry Dale Barnhart, 44, is accused of stealing a 1989 Honda Accord. Police charged him with larceny of a motor vehicle and jailed him with a $2,000 bond. His first court hearing is June 29.
Police Chase: Southern Pines police arrested a 32-year-old man after a chase down Indiana Avenue.
Officers charged Eric Wind with flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, driving while impaired, possession of marijuana and numerous traffic violations.
Wind was jailed with a $10,000 bond.
Larceny: Aberdeen police arrested a Pinehurst woman and charged her with stealing clothing from It’s Fashion, where she worked.
According to the arrest warrant, about $100 in clothing was stolen.
Police charged Shentura D. Bailey, 32, with larceny by employee. She signed a written promise to appear in court on July 28.
Drug Charges: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Seagrove man and charged him with possession of methamphetamine and growing marijuana.
Deputies searched his residence on Dover Church Road and said they seized some methamphetamine, two marijuana plants, over an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
They charged Bryan Lee Davis, 39, with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed with a $30,000 bond. His first court hearing is June 30.
Fraud: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Carthage woman on June 13 and charged her with using another person’s debit card for food at Subway.
Marsha Lavonne Marsh, 34, is accused of misdemeanor larceny (the debit card) and financial identity fraud. She signed a written promise to appear in court on June 30.
