Mrs. Crutchfield has been a real force in our community over the last 14 years. Until recently she was president of the United Way and prior to that was a very effective executive director of Keep Moore County Beautiful.
These organizations bring private individual volunteers and groups together to support such community diversity as The Boy Scouts, domestic violence victims, Adopt-A-Highway, and the many litter and environmental educational programs for our county’s schools.
Peggy’s opponent, Richard Morgan, spends a lot of time flying around on state-owned helicopters, getting wined and dined by special interests, and shaking down lobbyists for big money and seldom, if ever, attends the League of Women Voters Candidate Forums to meet Moore County voters.
All we do see of Richard Morgan is a newspaper ad and an occasional holiday parade appearance around election time until recently. Now he creates gross, shameful, negative ads about members of Peggy’s family.
All this time we have seen Peggy Crutchfield helping all of our communities in forums and schools for years. There are many of us who are thankful for Peggy’s continuing successful work across our county.
As a past two-term, eight-year Moore County commissioner, I know negative ads are mirrors of one’s character. So I recommend Peggy who has done a good job here at home and will make a fine legislator for all of us in Raleigh.
