Theater Campers Set for Show
A performance of “And the Dish Ran Away With the Spoon” will be held on Friday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at Aberdeen Elementary. Summer Theatre Campers ages 7-9 will perform the hilarious adaptation of the book by Janet Stevens as a culmination of their two week experience in Tyro camp, a shared program of the Arts Council and Sandhills Theatre Company. Tickets are $5 for ACMC members and $8 for non-members and are available at the door only.
Children ages 7-18 have been enjoying the opportunity to experience and learn about the magic of theatre in Summer Theatre Camp 2004. Many new features have been added to the camps, including an audition workshop conducted by Serena Ebhardt, a creative dramatics workshop conducted by Tom Behm, and a full day field trip to Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre to see how “The Sword of Peace” is produced.
A performance of “My Very Own Story,” by Alan Ayckbourn will be performed next Friday, June 25 at 7 p.m. by the apprentice campers ages 10-11. They will be followed immediately by “Scenes from a Hat,” the final production of journeyman campers, ages 12-15. All sets and props were fashioned by the technical campers for the three shows. For more information on the performances, please call Betsy Cowan at the Arts Council at 692-4356 or visit www.artscouncil-moore.org. |
