Flutist Andrea Maisonpierre, who has just graduated from the University of Maryland, will present a program of works by CPE Bach, Boccherini, Chamiade, Schocker and two Schumans. She will be joined by her parents, the piano duetists, Beth and Jonathan Maisonpierre.
This concert, a regular feature for the residents of the Penick Village, is also open to the general public without charge. The concert will be at 3 p.m.
Andrea began the study of the flute at the age of six with June Gunter Infantino in Southern Pines. She spent her high school years at the N.C. School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and has just received her bachelor’s degree in flute performance from the University of Maryland.
This fall she will begin work on her master’s degree at Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. Andrea began winning awards and contest prizes at an early age.
Her latest competitive victory was first place in the Flute Society of Washington Collegiate competition.
Penick Village is a retirement community at the end of East Rhode Island Avenue Extension in Southern Pines.
