Art Attack Exhibit Features Golf Scenes

BY JENNIFER MANESS: Special to The Pilot

Avid art admirers and golf fans alike are invited to “The Art of the Game,” a special exhibit at Art Attack in Southern Pines.

Robert and Carmen Jones, owners of the art gallery, are hosting this golf-themed event.

Opening night will be Friday, June 28 from 6-9 p.m. This evening allows the public to meet the local artists whose work will be showcased in the exhibit.

Featured in the show will be such area talent as Hannah Cole Buie, Paul Paskoff, Eileen Strickland, Maureen Frederick, Paula Montgomery and many others.

Aside from one room filled with regional art, there will be a separate room dedicated to the art of golf at its finest.

“We were trying to time the show along with tourist season and the golf tournament that’s coming up,” says co-owner Carmen Jones.

The Joneses , along with a staff of five artists, say they make it a point to have special art showcases every four months. Art Attack specializes in murals, custom paintings, faux finishes and floor cloths and furniture.

“The Art of the Game” will be on display for one month at Art Attack.

For information call the gallery at (910) 695-2243.
