Beacon Ridge: The 18-Hole Women played a better-ball event. A match of cards was needed, at net 56, to determine that Pat Allan and Marilyn Hoffman were first and Lynn Gorenflo and Rose Maenza were second.
Tied at net 57, and taking third and fourth places in a match of cards, were Barbara Scagnelli and Marianne Foley, and Marlene Price and Mary Lois Teyssier, respectively.
Winners in a low putts tournament were Marlene Price and Evelyn Barton, with 28 putts. Jeanne Helmstetter had 31 putts.
Pinehurst: The Chippers played on Course No. 3, odd holes only, at 50 percent handicap. Deborah Saunders was the winner, with a score of 15. Ann Gerahty was second with 17, Dorinda McNamara third with 18, and Ester Darazadi fourth with 19.
On Course No. 6, the Chippers played even holes only plus the ninth hole, with 50 percent handicap. A match of cards at 20 gave Susan Lynch first place and Anne Albright second. Mary Jane Finnegan was third with 21, and Louise Smith was fourth with 22.
The Men’s Golf Association played a Nassau tournament on Course No. 5, best- all format with 80 percent of each player’s handicap used for scoring. The overall winners, at 18 under par, were John Baumeister, Allen O’Neal, Bob Rinker and Walter Zingelmann. A match of cards at 15 under par gave second place to bob Frost, Hank Lowder, Don Olsen and Dick Rice. Taking third place were Tom Anderson, Dick Berkshire, Leo Ganster and John Duvall.
Cal Ciadella, Ernie Proctor, James Jones III and Paul Frederick won the front nine at 10 under par. Second place went to Tom Thomas, Gary Butler, Merton Gundry and Louis Creveling at 8 under par. In third place, at 7 under par, were Bill Petrillo, Thomas Castone, Bill Saunders and Bob Williams.
On the back nine, a match of cards at 9 under par gave first place to John Perffley, Paul Locklear, Phil Manhardt and Bart Slemmons. Second place went to Wayne Pensenstadler, Ray Rosinski, Dick Byrd Jr. and Joe Koontz. Third place, at 8 under par, wentto Bob Gable, Woody Burnell, Glenn Davis and Mike Mazza.
