Miss Moore Information Session
The Miss Moore County Scholarship Pageant Committee will host a 2001 pageant information session on Wednesday, June 28 at 3 p.m. at John’s Barbecue and Seafood in Aberdeen.
The session is scheduled strictly to provide information to young women of the county who would like to find out more about the pageant and the Miss Moore/Miss America programs.
Women ages 17-24 may attend — no commitment to participate in the pageant is necessary.

Gospel Sing Tonight
Three of Southern Gospel music’s top artists will be appearing in concert at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines on Friday night, June 23. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Multiple award-winning soloist Kirk Talley brings his unique, one-on-one style of gospel music to the Pinecrest stage. Talley is well-known for his songwriting, having penned tunes recorded by such artists as The Cathedrals, Babbie Mason and The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
Also appearing will be the quartet known as Won By One. This group recently celebrated their first-ever No. 1 song with a new recording of the traditional favorite “King Jesus.”

Fiddlers Coming
The Fochabers Fiddlers, a group of young musicians from Scotland, will perform Tuesday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, Pinehurst. The young people, ages 12 to 17, students at Milne High School in Fochabers, a small village on the northeast coast of Scotland, have included concerts in our area in this year’s scheduled American tour.
In addition to the concert at Community Presbyterian Church, the Fiddlers will perform in Laurinburg, Wednesday, July 12, at 3 p.m., at Scotia Village, and at 7:30 p.m., at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church. The church performances are open to the public free of charge.
