Annual Fine Arts Festival Beginning to Receive Artwork

The 26th annual Fine Arts Festival is just around the corner and receiving of artwork begins next weekend.

The artwork will be received at Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines) on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Monday through Friday, July 17 to 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each artist may submit up to two entries. All submissions will be displayed in Campbell House Galleries Aug. 5 through 31.

This popular event attracts works from artists all over the country. The judges for this year's festival will be Jeanne Zeigler and Rita Shumaker of the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte.

The festive award ceremony and reception, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Campbell House gardens, is usually attended by 300 to 400 guests who admire the artwork on display and cast a ballot for the popular Lee Barrett People's Choice award.

The 26th annual Fine Arts Festival is presented by the Arts Council of Moore County and sponsored by Bill Smith Ford Lincoln Mercury and realtor Pinky Doyle of Re/Max of the Pines. Get busy and add the finishing touch to your masterpiece! Festival brochures are available at the Campbell House.
