Woodlake: The Ladies Association played an even holes tournament with 50 percent of each player’s handicap used for scoring. Lorraine Buracker was first with a 36. Dorothy Dold and Louise Plumb tied at 37.
Angie Forge birdied the eighth and 17th holes, and Louise Plumb birdied the fourth hole.
Knollwood: The Rainmakers held a Member-Member Tournament June 26, with the following results: Flight 1: Dot Smith and Georgia Snow, 24; Joanne Rabdau and Dee Hancock, 25. Flight 2: Linda Piechota and Bobbie Benade, 24; Barbara MacNamee and Carol Smith, 26.
The Sandblasters played June 20, in a 1-2-3 Best Ball event with the following results: Bill Moore, Chuck Crum, Knud Kornberg and Dick Heilman, 50; Bill Crenson, Glen Kendall, Doug Toler, and Paul Hoffman, 51; John Wunderlin, Dave Smith, Dick Keyse, and Phil Colwell, 52.
Tied for low gross, at 38, were Bill Crenson, Art Gula and Bill Moore. Jim Burrill and Len Grasso tied for low net with 30.
The Sandblasters played June 27, in a two-man best ball contest and the results were: John Mannion and Clark Russell, 27; Richard Kelley and Jim Horne, 28; Bill Moore and Dick Baird, 29.
John Mannion won low gross with 37. Jim Horne birdied the third hole.
Foxfire: The Ladies group played the West Course June 28, in a low net contest. The top finishers were Nancy Cauto, 69; Eileen Umland, 72; Pat Bryan, Barbara Price, and Flo LaShomb, all tied at 75.
Whispering Pines: Twilight Golf was played on June 23, on the West Course, with the following results: Joe and Sue Thomas with Bill and Agnes Buckley, 21.25; Dave and Rita Diffor with Lynn and Nell Crawford, 24.25; Bill and Carol Saylor with Mel and Joan Willison, 25.50.
The Men’s Association held its annual two-day Member-Guest Tournament, playing the East Course June 15 and the West Course June 16. Awards were presented at a banquet on Friday evening to the following teams:
Flight 1: Gross — Dean Donley and Dick Wilson, tied at 141, with Jack Oliver and Willie Stalsitz. Net — Kurt Ludke and Eric Gressman, 124; Phil Guzzo and Bill Blades, 126; Paul Sams and Mike Caughlin, 127.
Flight 2: Gross — George Carfi and Dominic Galiardi, 155; Paul Molloy and Tom Schillerstrom, 156. Net — Dick Strine and Dick Rogers, 127; Paul Hallet and Nelson Lester, tied at 128, with Carl Lanning and Donald Hunt.
Closest to the pin on the first day were Dean Donley, Ray Lanoue, and Brad Hogle. Jack Oliver, Dean Donley, John Hogle, and Dick Osborne won closest to the pin on the second day of competition.
The Men’s Association played June 28, in a three best balls of the foursome game. The top finishers teams were: Ray Blacklock, Dick Hammond, Tom Harp and Phil Guzzo at 194; Bob Lowery, Dick Strine, John Gerwig and Dave Diffor, tied at 197, with Jack Lyons, Jack Jakucyk, Casey Mullin.
Pat O’Malley won low gross at 74.
The Ninettes played June 26 on the East Course in a game where only par-4 holes counted and one-half of each player’s handicap was used for scoring. Top finishers were: Flight 1 — Paula Scanlon, 25; Sandy Gerdes, 25.5. Flight 2 — Mimi Schoolcraft, 23; Margaret Pluff, 26.
Diana Shuler chipped in for a birdie on the eighth hole.
Longleaf: The Women’s Golf Association played a game of two best balls on the front nine and three best balls on the back nine. Jean Gleason, Dottie Guckin, Marian Morrison and Pat Ryan carded a 143.
Birdies were recorded by Ruth Hansell on the second and eighth holes, Dottie Guckin on the sixth and 12th holes, Jean Gleason on the eighth hole, and Doris Barclay on the 12th. Nancy Maher had a chip-in on the fifth hole, and Diane Steele on the 18th.
Whispering Woods: The Ladies Golf Association played a Member-Member Tournament on June 20 and 22, with the following results: Margaret Endrigat and Mary Ella Miller, 113; Fannie Maines and Shirley Smedley, 114; Jean Hinkle and Marti Libbey, tied at 124, with Barbara Gerber and Gerry Scalia.
The Men’s Golf Association held its Member-Guest Tournament, with one best ball of each two-man team needed for scoring. National: The Women’s Golf Association played a Green Team/White Team Tournament June 21. The Green team won 7 to 4 over the White Team.
Members of the winning Green Team were: Tricia Knight, Paula McEachen, Bonnie Quesenberry, Trudy van der Lee, Diane Tate, Rene White, Wanda Clevenger and Dot Kennihan.
On June 28, the game was individual low net with the following results: Louise Pierce, 67; Dot Kennihan, 69; Tricia Knight, 70.

The Four-Player Team resulted in a score of 271 by Phil Magnarella, Ed Rhodes, Eddie Davis and a blind draw.
Midland: The Ladies Association had a team play day with gross and net winners. Gross winners: Joan Meyer, Georgia Snow, Peg Baran and Mim Pierce at 210. Net winners: Joanne Rabdau, Gerda Pittinger, Helen Carty and a blind draw, tied at 138, with Sally Kelly, Ginny Farrell, Doris Hoffmann and a blind draw. Low-putt winners were Joan Barriage, Sally Stultz, Margene Chapman and Lauramae Smith at 60.
Renee McClure birdied the eighth hole. Dee Fordree chipped in on the second hole, Mary Ann LaLonde on the fourth hole and Carol Linthicum on the sixth.
The Men’s Golf Association played a Nassau Tournament on June 21, with two best balls of the foursome counted for scoring. Overall: Paul Aschmetat, Charles Childers, Bob Connelly, Dick Baird, at 109. Joel Rabdau won low gross with 78. Richard Madeira was the net winner at 61.
In the 9-hole Skins Game Merle Chapman took skins on holes five and seven, Dick Keyse on holes six and nine, and Phil Colwell on the eighth.
