Moore Men’s Am at Foxfire July 12-13

Matthew Kohut’s yearlong reign as Moore County Men’s Amateur champion will be in jeopardy July 12-13 when he defends against a strong field on the Foxfire West Course.

The championship is open to all male amateurs who are residents of Moore County or who are members of a golf club in the county. The entry fee is $100 and proceeds from the event will be used to promote junior golf in the area and The First Tee of the Sandhills.

Entrants will play 36 holes of stroke play over the Gene Hamm-designed course and the cost of carts, a Sunday cookout and prizes are included in the entry fee.

Practice rounds may be played prior to the event for $25, including cart fees.

Entry forms are available in The Pilot, at local golf and pro shops, and at Foxfire Golf and Country Club.

The deadline for entries is Tuesday. For information, call Bob Klug at 295-5011, Dr. Justin Bode at 695-1500, or Ron Giles at 295-5555.
