It is not Christmas, but we are talking Fruit Cake. To be exact, “Old-Fashioned Southern Supreme Nutty Fruitcake.” Sandhills CWC will hold their monthly luncheon on Thursday, July 18 at noon. Our feature this month is Southern Supreme of Bear Creek and the guest speaker is Irene Hall of Fairfax, Va.

For those in the know, Southern Supreme makes some of the best fruitcake to come out of North Carolina.

Founded in 1984 by Berta and Hoytt Scott, Southern Supreme has grown into a thriving, tasty business. Not only producing fruitcake, you can find a variety of cookies, nuts, jams, spreads and relishes all based on family recipes. Come and hear how it all got started.

Irene Hall is a former teacher and New York social worker. After her careers in New York, she moved to Tokyo and currently resides in Fairfax, VA. This travel enthusiast will teach us about “Framing My World.”

All Sandhills women and their guests are welcome to attend the luncheon held at the National Golf Club in Pinehurst from noon to 1:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling Jan at 295-0305.. Be sure to let us know if you will be taking advantage of our free nursery for preschool and home-schooled children. The cost of the luncheon is $13.00, all-inclusive. A courtesy call is requested no later than Tuesday, July 16th, to cancel. Sandhills CWC is a non-member, non-dues club.
