Arts In The Park Saturday
Beginning Saturday, July 27, the Arts Council of Moore County and the Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department will present the first of three "Arts in the Park" events at Camelot Playground in Cannon Park, Pinehurst.
The first performance of "Arts in the Park" will feature Lynch Puppetheatre Productions performing their show, "Little Red Riding, Ya'll" at 11 a.m. The performance is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the performance will be in Assembly Hall of the Village Hall (395 Magnolia Road, Pinehurst). Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on during the performance.
"Red Riding Hood, Ya'll" is a southern-fried version of the classic tale, "Little Red Riding Hood.” Lynch Puppetheatre Productions combines hand carved, English hand puppets and lively, slapstick humor to make this one of their most requested shows.
From 10-10:45 a.m., there is free face painting by Kim Kirkpatrick. To satisfy your sweet tooth, TCBY Treats will also be selling frozen yogurt and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be selling soft drinks.
The next two "Arts in the Park" will feature the comedic juggling of Mark Lippard on Aug. 3, and the interACTive theater of JEF on August 10. The Arts Council of Moore County and the Pinehurst Parks & Recreation Dept. invite everyone to join the fun at Camelot Playground.
