The Sandhills Guide’s Retirement section mentions the veterans memorial project in Carthage. What editors failed to mention was that the actual sponsor is the Moore County Veterans Memorial Committee, chaired by Raymond Doby.
The committee is the group that spearheaded the project, got the enthusiasm going and made the intitial requests to the county to obtain the land and other logistics.
n In the listings of our Golf Courses, we noticed that the column “last renovation” was not updated. Our apologies to those courses that have undergone changes that we failed to acknowledge in this column.
