The fourth annual Vital Signs health fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Pine Needles Reception Center. The Miss Moore County Fashion Extravaganza  fashion show will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Country Club of North Carolina. Cash bar will open at 11:30 a.m. with the the fashion show starting at noon. Local Pinehurst entertainer Barron Maness will perform two consecutive nights, Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College, Airport Road in Pinehurst. Classical Concert Series will present The Gryphon Trio on Monday, Jan. 30 ,at the Sunrise Theater, one of North America's premier chamber ensembles. Consisting of piano, violin and cello, the group has toured internationally since1993 and was recently chosen as best Canadain Chamber Music Recording  by OPUS magazine. Silent movie “Wings” (1927) plays at the Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines on Saturday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. The 1927 WWI classic stars Charles “Buddy” Rogers, Richard Arlen and Clara Bow. This is a war love story that features aerial sequences that still astound audiences today for their realism. Sky Art Gallery offers rare signed lithographs, prints and originals from local and internationally-recognized artists.     Representatives of the graduating classes of 1929 through 1952 of Aberdeen High School will host a reunion on Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8, at the Days Inn in Southern Pines.   • Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University on Tuesday, March 21. The trip fees will be $37 for Aberdeen residents and $42 for non-residents. Register by Feb. 28. This will include the van ride to the museum and admission. The van will leave from the Aberdeen Lake Building at 8:30 a.m. with arrival at the museum at 10 a.m. Tour the museum with lunch at a nearby restaurant afterwards. Estimated return time to Aberdeen is 4 p.m.

    Overnight coach trip and package tour to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville Tuesday, April 18, and return on Wednesday, April 19. The estate will be celebrating its Festival of Flowers throughout April and the showcase this year will be a tulip display in the Walled Garden. The trip fee of $205 (double occupancy) will include a motor-coach, a night’s lodging at the Fairfield Inn with complimentary breakfast, lunch at the Deerpark Restaurant, and dinner at the Moose Café as well as admission to the Biltmore Estate.
