Workshop’s Purpose is Attracting Wildlife

A workshop entitled “Attracting Wildlife to Your Own Backyard” will be presented at the Pinehurst Village Hall on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The speakers will include Peter Hanly, Dolores Muller and Arleen Rutkofske, all members of the Greenway Wildlife Habitat Committee. They will emphasize ways to create and protect backyard habitats while supporting native plants, birds and animals in this unique Sandhills ecosystem.

Native flower cards have been produced as a joint venture between the Greenway Wildlife Habitat Committee and the Moore County Master Gardeners Volunteers. The pictures were taken by members of the committee and can be purchased at Midland Crafters, The Country Bookshop and at the Jan. 28 workshop. The price is $10, and the box includes pictures of 10 different native wildflowers.
