Actor to Lecture at UNCP
James Earl Jones, who has appeared in more than 200 television and film roles from “Dr. Strangelove” to “Roots” to the “Star Wars Trilogy,” will speak to students at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Givens Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.
The event is part of UNCP’s Homecoming 2003 activities. Tickets for the event are $10 for the general public. For ticket information, interested persons can call the GPAC Box Office at 1-800- 367-0778.
The actor received the National Medal of Arts in December from President George W. Bush at the Kennedy Center Honors in New York. He is also rumored to be returning as the voice of Darth Vader in 2005 in the final installment of George Lucas’s most recent “Star Wars” trilogy.
The actor is also the author of a book, “James Earl Jones: Voices and Silences,” which was released in 1997. Some of Jones’ other movie credits include “Field Of Dreams,” “The Hunt for Red October,” “Patriot Games,” “Coming to America” and “The Lion King.” |
