Kiwanis Honors PC Students

CONTRIBUTED

Four Pinecrest High students were honored and thanked for working in the Kiwanis concession stand at the 2005 US Open at a recent Kiwanis Club meeting. The students are participating in the International Baccalaureate program.

The time contributed by these IB students, Kiwanis members and other volunteers help raise more than $9,500 to benefit children in Moore County and worldwide.

To honor this community service work of the students, the Kiwanis Club of Pinehurst made a donation to the Pinecrest IB program of $800.

The IB program is a nonprofit educational foundation program that encourages students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens. Founded in 1968, the IB program currently works with 1,721 schools in 122 countries to develop and offer three challenging programs to more than 200,000 students aged 3 to 19 years.
