The Moore County Relay For Life will be held at Pinecrest High School, Friday, April 28, beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until 9 a.m. Saturday, April 29. The JFR Barn will be hosting its monthly wine dinner on Monday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. in its award-winning wine room.     Laura Durham will be at the Carthage Library, Saturday, March 11, at noon to talk about her Annabelle Archer series: “Better Off Wed” and “Better or Hearse.”

    The Moore County Library in Carthage will host J.D. “Dusty” Rhoades, author of “The Devil’s Right Hand,” (St. Martin’s, 2005) for a book talk and signing for his new book, “Good Day in Hell,” on Saturday, March 25, at 2 p.m.

    Ragan Lecture Series

    Sunday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m., at Weymouth Center, Emily Herring Wilson will discuss her books, “Two Gardeners: A Friendship in Letters between Katharine S. White,” an editor at the New Yorker and wife of E. B. White, and Elizabeth Lawrence, Southern gardener and columnist for The Charlotte Observer, and “No One Gardens Alone: A Life of Elizabeth Lawrence.”

    Representatives of the graduating classes of 1929 through 1952 of Aberdeen High School will host a reunion on Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8, at the Days Inn in Southern Pines.     Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University on Tuesday, March 21. The trip fees will be $37 for Aberdeen residents and $42 for non-residents. Register by Feb. 28. This will include the van ride to the museum and admission. The van will leave from the Aberdeen Lake Building at 8:30 a.m. with arrival at the museum at 10 a.m. Tour the museum with lunch at a nearby restaurant afterwards. Estimated return time to Aberdeen is 4 p.m.

    Overnight coach trip and package tour to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville Tuesday, April 18, and return on Wednesday, April 19. The estate will be celebrating its Festival of Flowers throughout April and the showcase this year will be a tulip display in the Walled Garden. The trip fee of $205 (double occupancy) will include a motor-coach, a night’s lodging at the Fairfield Inn with complimentary breakfast, lunch at the Deerpark Restaurant, and dinner at the Moose Café as well as admission to the Biltmore Estate.
