Include Me Out

I’m responding to Raymond Reid’s oh-so-true article (Jan. 25) about The Vermont Country Store’s catalog. Not only are they selling to “over-the-hill” folks, but I often laugh at two items in particular that are advertised.

They boast about a wonderful soap that was supplied to the travelers on board the Titanic and a superb lotion that Jackie Kennedy Onassis used to make her skin glow.

Hate to say it — but what good did the soap do for the poor souls on board the ill-fated ship? Perhaps the soap floated, like Ivory Soap used to be known for. Also, I wonder what good the special lotion did for Jackie O.

Maybe my days would be numbered if I were to purchase either of these items. No harm in continuing to sell these items, but leave out the Titanic and Jackie O.
