The Narcotics Unit and Special Res-ponse Team searched a residence in the Putnam community of Moore County on Putnam Church Road.
Officers seized 7 grams of methamphetamine, nearly an ounce of marijuana, two rocks of crack cocaine, $624 cash, a firearm and items of drug paraphernalia.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $750.
Officers arrested Cirilo Cruz Salazar, 22, of Carthage; Johnny Ray Sheffield Jr., 25, of Robbins; and Crystal Tennessee Melton, 18, also of Robbins.
Deputies charged Salazar with possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed with a $250,000 secured bond.
Officers charged Sheffield with felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance. He was released with a $5,000 unsecured bond.
They charged Melton with felony possession of crack cocaine and released her on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
The SBI and the Bureau of Immigration, Customs Enforce-ment and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
Stolen Four-Wheelers: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 28-year-old Robbins woman Tuesday and charged her with stealing two all-terrain vehicles.
Deputies found a Honda 300 Fourtrax and a Kawasaki Bayou 220 on Feb. 10 at 194 Longleaf Church Road. Officers ran the vehicle identification numbers and found that both had been stolen from Randolph County residents.
They charged Dawn Carmaine Barrett, who lives at the address where the ATVs were found, with two counts of felony possession of stolen goods.
She was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. Her first court hearing is Feb. 24.
Car Break-In: Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Eagle Springs man on Tuesday and charged him with breaking into and stealing the stereo from a car parked on Community Road on Jan. 15.
Deputies arrested Robert Dewey Powell Jr., 19, and charged him with one count of felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, one count of misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
He was jailed with a $3,000 secured bond.
Drug Charges: Southern Pines police arrested a 27-year-old man Feb. 9 on drug possession charges.
Officers charged George Bradsher Wirtz, of Southern Pines, with possession of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration.
He was jailed with a $5,000 secured bond.
Breaking and Entering: Deputies arrested a Carthage man Feb. 7 and charged he and another man with breaking in to the house he was residing at.
The Sheriff’s Department received a report of a break-in Feb. 1 from Johnny Colon Luck Sr. of Manley Road.
He told police that someone had climbed through his window and stole $20.
Officers arrested Johnny Colon Luck Jr., 38, who was living at the residence, and William Benton Hodges, 35, of West End. Officers charged them with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Luck has also been charged with breaking into a home on N.C. 705 in Eagle Springs, where a pressure washer was stolen.
He faces one additional count each of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods.
False Report: Sheriff’s deputies investigating a break-in to a Heavenwood Road home on Sept. 15 arrested the man who reported the break-in and charged him with filing a false report.
Brian Mark Bibey reported the theft of a large screen television from his home.
On Feb. 8, deputies arrested Bibey and charged him with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretenses and one count of filing a false police report.
He was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond. His first court hearing is Feb. 24.
The television was returned to Rent Way, the actual owner of the television.
Car Break-In: Carthage police arrested a 24-year-old on Feb. 3 and charged him with stealing a credit card and using the stolen card to purchase seven cartons of cigarettes.
Zachary Dowd Childress is accused of breaking in to a Dodge Ram on Oct. 23, stealing a wallet and checkbook, and using a card twice to buy cigarettes at Etna Service. Childress faces charges of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny, two counts of obtaining property by false pretense and common-law forgery.
He was released to his parents custody. His first court hearing is March 9.
Larceny: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Vass resident and charged him with stealing from the couple he rented from.
Deputies charged Billy Ray Wammack, 39, with felony larceny. He was released with a $3,000 unsecured bond. His first court hearing is set for Feb. 24.
Worthless Checks: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 54-year-old Eagle Springs man and charged him with writing checks on a closed account.
On Feb. 2, Art’s Deli-Mart called the Sheriff’s Department to report it had received three worthless checks from the same individual.
Officers arrested Ronald Craig Scott on Feb. 4 and charged him with three counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses. He was released with a $2,000 unsecured bond. His first court hearing is Feb. 24.
