Edwards’ Contradictions
“She said at 3, ‘I’m fine.’ She said at 4, ‘I’m having a little trouble, but I’m OK.’ … At 5:30, she said, ‘I need out.’ She speaks to you through me. … I feel her presence. She’s inside me, and she’s talking to you.”
These are the words of lawyer John Edwards, speaking to the jury about a fetus in her mother’s womb. The fetus was determined to have cerebral palsy and Edwards won a $6.5 million verdict due to a “botched delivery.” This is the lawyer who claimed to have heard the voice of the unborn speaking to him so he could sue her doctor.
Isn’t it amazing that a candidate for the presidency of the United States, who must enforce the constitutional right to life, liberty and happiness, can hear the voice of a fetus in her mother’s womb that enables him to earn millions of dollars as a trial lawyer, but as U.S. senator never heard the voices of the unborn when casting votes against every piece of legislation that would permit the unborn to have the constitutional right to life.
Edwards speaks of “integrity and truthfulness” in his famous, canned primary speeches in every town and before the TV cameras. Where is the integrity and truthfulness of the man who made more than $60 million on 20 similar cases dealing with the unborn and their right to be born healthy, who sells himself to a political party that values votes more than unborn lives?
