A&T State Announces Honors
Several area students recently graduated or attained honors from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
Recent graduates are Eugene L. Ketter and Edward D. Kidd, both of Moore County.
The dean’s list for Fall 2002 includes Darren L. Brand, Theron D. Brower Jr, Joseph Daniel Coles, Robert Anthony Jackson, Jerry L. Jones, Eugene L. Ketter, Jessica Russell Latham, Leon N. Lyons, Jakia D. Marshall and Teneisha Phillips.
Hill Named Finalist
Alicia Brooke Hill, daughter of Ricky and Tami Hill of Bennett, has been selected finalist for North Carolina’s 23rd Annual Homecoming Queen Selection to be held March 22 and 23 at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park in Charlotte.
She is the North Moore High School Homecoming Queen.
North Carolina’s 2003 Homecoming Queen will receive a cash scholarship plus an expense paid trip to the National Finals to compete with queens from the other states for America’s Homecoming queen.
Financial Aid Workshop Rescheduled
The financial aid workshop and college fair sponsored by Fort Bragg’s School Liaison Services that was cancelled due to snow on Jan. 23 has been rescheduled for Feb. 27 at the Tolson Youth Activities Center on Normandy Drive. Cathy Everett, the Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Fayetteville State University, will conduct a workshop from 6:30-7 p.m.
Various colleges will provide information about the enrollment and application process from 7-8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

FSU Announces Recent Honorees
Fayetteville State University announces the names of 376 students whose academic performance put them on the Chancellor’s List for the fall semester 2002. Chancellor’s List students earned a 3.75 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale.
Among the FSU fall 2002 Chancellor’s List honorees are Jerry L. Jackson (Sociology) and Bret A. Sutton (History), both of Southern Pines.
