New Zion A.M.E. Zion Church will hold a musical program on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m.

The Berkley High School Alumni Association is looking for all persons who attended the high school at any time, whether or not you were a graduate. The first check up meeting for the Central N.C. Conference is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church in Spring Lake. The Ordination will be held on Feb. 7.

The Lay Council Banquet of the Sanford district will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the Addor Community Organization will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m. at the Community Center.

Birthday wishes go out this week to Martha Harris (Feb. 6), Terrill Hart (Feb. 9), Ashley Cobbs (Feb. 10) and Pamela Cobbs (Feb. 12).

Diona Brown, Hattie Florence Smith, Ola Chavis, Martha Harris, Corenna Nealy, Gladys Bright, Stella Gillespie, Sadie Clark, Erma Seagroves Arnold, Alfonza Seagroves and Epherim Mack are all among the homebound.

Frye’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church held its quarterly conference on Friday, Jan. 31. Elder Kent McMillian presided. John C. McCrimmon was installed as deacon.

Johnsie William, Odessa McLeod, Geraldine McLeod and Priscilla Hart attended the Valentine’s Day Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the R.L. Douglas Headquarters in Raeford.

The ministers, deacons and mothers monthly meeting will be held on Monday night, Feb. 3, at the R. L. Douglas Headquarters.

Odessa McLeod and Willie McCrimmon visited Johnie and Annie Lou Frye last Sunday evening.

Elder Larry C. Frye and Louise Frye visited Christine and Linda McKeithen on Sunday evening.

Mack Burns is at St. Joseph’s Nursing Center. Maude McCrimmon is at Sandhills Nursing Center.

Mary V. Leach (Pally), Viola McCrimmon, and Shirley Warth of Spring Lake are homebound.

St. Peter will be traveling to the Church of God by Faith in Sumpter, S.C., on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 4:30 p.m. St. Peter will be having a singles and couples seminar on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. Elder Vivian Humphries, Elder Charles and Deborah Bloom, and Bishop Ronnie Moore will be the speakers for various seminars.

Gods Love in Action will be having a pastors aide service on Friday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Evangelist Loretta Butler will be the speaker.

St. John will be having an appreciation service for First Lady Hooker on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Apostle Andria Weeks will be the preacher.

Apostle Andria Weeks will be preaching at Whole Word Gospel in Rockingham at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9.

St. Peters will be having Bible Study on Thursday night. The subject for bible study will be Holiness.

The Vass Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary fundraisers “Sweet Heart Breakfast” will be Saturday, Feb. 8, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Vass Rescue Building in Vass, serving bacon, eggs or sausage and all the other good stuff.

Mary Cohen underwent heart surgery on Wednesday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and is home doing fine.

Robert Page is a patient in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill expecting to come home soon.

Sympathy is extended to the Frye family on the death of Stephen Frye who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26. The funeral was at the Vass United Methodist Church the following Thursday.

Sympathy is extended to the McRae family on the death of Marshall (Doc) McRae who passed away on Monday, Jan. 27. The funeral was held the following Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Southern Pines.

Sympathy is extended to the Lane family on the death of Virginia Lane who passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30. The funeral was held this past Saturday at the Piney Wood Baptist Church in Cameron.

Cypress Church will hold a Men’s Breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 9. On Sunday evening there will be a session meeting at 7 p.m.

Mildred Seagroves underwent surgery on her hand as an outpatient at the doctor’s office.
