Film Series: Liam Next Up at Sunrise Theater

The Arts Council of Moore County’s International Film Festival 2002 continues on Thursday, Feb. 28 with Liam, sponsored by Harris Printing Company, Inc.

Made in Great Britain and Germany, the film is in English, is rated R and runs for one hour and 31 minutes. Times of screening, 2 and 7:30 p.m.

“Liam” is set in the 1930s when England was between the two world wars as well as on the verge of a severe depression. Seven-year-old Liam is growing up in the Irish Catholic quarter of Liverpool. The film is a poignant portrait of an impoverished family, as seen through the eyes of an innocent child who dreams of a brighter future.
