Public Education Foundation Elects Officers

The Public Education Foundation of Moore County, Inc. has been helping children in the Moore County Public Schools for 18 years by providing grant monies to their teachers for supplemental innovative programs and projects for which funding is not otherwise available.

The foundation’s newly elected officers Robert Timothy Lea, president; Dr. Walter Morris, III, vice president; Larry Caddell, treasurer; and Carolyn Mealing, secretary, began their terms of office at the Jan. 17 meeting of the board of directors. The foundation also welcomed new board members Ken Baer, Mark Packard, and Cindy Morgan at this meeting.

Outgoing president, Teena Little, instrumental in revitalizing the foundation, will continue to serve on the board.

Fundraising efforts, currently under way, are critical to the foundation’s ability to provide grant monies. New fundraising chairman, Larry Caddell said that in addition to the traditional fundraising practices that have been used in the past, the foundation expects to sponsor a district-wide golf tournament this summer. Caddell said that more details about the golf tournament would be available later this spring.

For more information about the foundation, please call (910) 295-2965 or (910) 673-2935.
