PHS Boys End Season With First-Round Loss

The season ended at Seventy-First High school for the Pinecrest boys’ basketball team Monday night.

The number-one ranked in the state Falcons (22-2) jumped out to a 22-5 first quarter lead and went on to win 75-42 in an opening round game of the Mid-Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Pinecrest finished the season winless in the league and 2-22 overall.

Seventy-First meets Jack Britt and Richmond County is at Hoke County in Wednesday’s semifinal games.

Senior guard Phillip McCrimmon had three treys and led the Patriots with 13 points.

No other Pinecrest player scored more than six points.

Juan Wheat led the Falcons, who are 15-0 in conference play this season, with 17.

Mitchell Nance added 15 points and Mark Salazar added 10 for the Falcons.
