‘Pooh Corner’ Comes to The Sunrise Theater

CONTRIBUTED

Presented by the Arts Council of Moore County, McMurray Fabric’s Inc. and Carter’s Fabricare, Theater IV will perform “House at Pooh Corner” on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Sunrise Theater (250 NW Broad St., Southern Pines).

Tickets, at $4 for ACMC members and $6 for nonmembers, are available in advance at Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines), and at the door.

Winnie the Pooh, perhaps the best-loved character in children’s literature, will come to life at the Sunrise Theater. Whether you are very young or wise to the ways of the world, every so often each of us has to “get back to the House at Pooh Corner” to spend some tender time with faithful friends. Come see all the favorite characters: Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, Rabbit, Christopher Robin, and, of course, Pooh.

Based in Richmond, Va. Theater IV is the second largest theater for young audiences in the nation and has provided innovative, educational theater since 1975. Each season, Theater IV performs to over 1,000,000 children and adults across the United States. The company has received many awards, including the Sara Spencer Award for “the most outstanding contribution to children’s theater in the Southeastern U.S.”

Don’t miss Theater IV performing this classic tale on Feb. 17. The show is recommended for grades kindergarten-5, and is also supported by a Grassroots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency funded by the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts.
