The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the Ramada Inn on I-85 at N.C. 96.
The corporation is a farmer-owned organization that administers the price support program for flue-cured tobacco.
District 8 includes Moore County as well as Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Lee, Montgomery, Orange, Vance, Wake and Warren counties.
“Stabilization’s flue-cured marketing centers and the future of an auction marketing system will be key topics at the annual district meeting this year,” said Richard Jenks, District 8 director. “Significant data from the 2001 tobacco season will also be presented by representatives from Stabili-zation, Tobacco Associates Inc., and USDA’s Tobacco Division, Agricultural Marketing Service. Ample time will be provided for comments and discussion.”
