County Planning Board Holds Meeting Thursday

The Moore County Planning Board will resume its public hearing on a conditional use permit request by American Tower at its meeting Thursday.

The hearing was begun at a December meeting but was continued for additional information.

The board will also conduct a public hearing on a conditional use permit request by Sheila Walden for a new manufactured home park off Leaman Road near the intersection with N.C. 705.

Also on the agenda is a public meeting to consider an application by GS Communities for a text amendment to allow accessory buildings on lots larger than three acres in the Gated Community-Seven Lakes District. GS Communities represents the Morganwoods Subdivision.

The Manufactured Home Subcommittee, chaired by Tyrell Britt, will present a report on its studies, and the staff report will include a report on the GC-SL amendment to allow duplex units.

Planning board meetings are open to the public. The board will convene at 6 p.m. Thursday in the historic courthouse in downtown Carthage.

The Planning Board’s subcommittee on manufactured homes will meet Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the planning office.

Building Inspections Super-visor Scott Thomas and County Tax Administrator Eddie Parris will discuss building code and tax issues with the subcommittee.

All subcommittee meetings are open to the public.
