Lunch was provided and club members enjoyed meeting guests while participating in a little friendly competition. The fun hunt was open to all sporting dog breeds and offered an opportunity to test the dog and handler as a team. Teams were evaluated against a set standard and scored based on the ability to hold point, remain steady to wing and shot, and retrieval.
In the Scoring Dog Division, first place was awarded to Lee Holbrook/Nikki (English Setter); second place to Lee Holbrook/Max (English Setter); third place to Lynn Holbrook/Judge (English Setter).
In the Fun Dog Division, first place was awarded to Jeremy Rust/Norman (German Shorthaired Pointer); second place to George Worst/Bonny (English Setter); third place was a tie between Ross Adams/Sophie (Weimaraner) and Carl Berry/Buxton (German Shorthaired Pointer).
The Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and has approximately 52 members.
