Important Event

As chairs of this year’s Moore Regional Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Ball (Dec. 11), we would like to share with you why we believe this annual fund-raiser is so important to our community.

The Auxiliary has a long history of providing support for the hospital and the patients it serves. The Auxiliary’s current $1 million pledge helped to provide for the expansion and renovation of the Child Development Center on the campus of the hospital. While this is clearly a strong benefit for FirstHealth employees, it is also another important means by which the hospital assists its physicians and staff in delivering the very best in patient care.

Moore Regional was recently named a Top 100 Hospital. It is home to one of the best clinical staffs in the country, due in part to the Child Development Center. Without care for their children, many hospital employees would be unable to focus on their jobs — caring for patients. This five-star facility makes it easier to recruit and retain an excellent staff. That directly results in better patient care, because it ensures the hospital’s attractiveness to physicians, nurses and ancillary staff.

As we celebrate this holiday season, let us be thankful for the wonderful health care system we enjoy in the Sandhills. The Auxiliary Hospital Ball gives us the opportunity to reflect on that and to ensure the excellence in patient care the community deserves and has come to expect. The Auxiliary appreciates the continued support of the community and looks forward to a healthier future for all the people that Moore Regional Hospital serves.
