Pinckney Reunion Highlights Class of 1953
A group of several hundred former students and teachers of Pinckney High School, now closed, gathering at the Pine Needles Lodge Nov. 28-29, for their biennial reunion.
One of the highlights of the reunion was the celebration of the class of 1953’s 50th anniversary. The class honored their homeroom teacher, Catherine Lutz, who was accompanied by her husband, Frederick Lutz, a former teacher/coach at the school, also.
Out of a class of 35 students, 12 were present, 15 are deceased, and the remainder were not able to be there, but sent their congratulations to their classmates and teacher.
Adam Shaw, who was the last class president gave remarks and highlighted the class and Catherine Lutz. Electa Person read an appreciation letter from the class, which was written by her and Irene Ray. Catherine Lutz was presented with several gifts by the class and a standing ovation by the crowd, many of whom were her students, too. |
