“New volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Volunteers enhance our mission to provide residents with excellent services and quality care in a supportive community,” says Myron Dice, Quail Haven Village’s Executive Director.
On Sept. 10, Quail Haven Village will host its annual volunteer training at which volunteers will receive a personal introduction to the special Quail Haven Village neighborhood.
Quail Haven Village is a not-for-profit rental continuing care retirement community. The campus contains 96 independent lifestyle apartment homes and a 60-bed nursing facility, The Inn at Quail Haven Village.
The United Methodist Retirement Homes (UMRH) manages Quail Haven Village. UMRH has been serving the needs of retired adults for more than 50 years. Added to the UMRH commitment is the support of Life Care Services, LLC, whose 40 years of experience in retirement living have established them as the industry leader.
“The Quail Haven Village volunteer family consists of people who simply enjoy life, love to make new friends and have some time and talents to share,” says Dice.
Volunteers choose their schedules. A commitment of 30 to 60 minutes per week allows time to develop a special one-on-one relationship or the opportunity to interact with many during a scheduled Quail Haven Village activity.
“Volunteers need no previous experience, just a friendly smile and caring spirit,” says Dice.
The annual six-hour training orientation and luncheon will be held at Quail Haven Village on Sept. 10 from 8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the Bill Lowdermilk Community Building No. 207, 155 Blake Boulevard, Pinehurst. Joan Hoover, with over 30 years teaching experience in the field of geriatrics, will facilitate the training.
An application and reservation to participate in the volunteer training program may be secured by calling Barbara Dice, volunteer coordinator at 215-9655 or Joan Hoover at training coordinator at 295-4305.
