I have a son that is 2 1/2 years old who attends Edu-Care. I have had my son there for about 18 months, and I have never been anything but pleased with the care he has received there.
He has always been well fed, clean, and is always happy about being there. He has loved his teachers and remembers each of them by name. They work very hard to make the children feel warm and comfortable, almost like family. It has always been very clean any time of the day you walk in there, morning or evening. I feel that people tend to pass judgment a little too quickly sometimes before they get a chance to look at the whole picture. I would like to see a story in The Pilot about the tough job that day-care providers face each day. They are faced with a very wide variety of children that come from all different types of families, backgrounds, and environments. So many of the children that they deal with every day have no respect at all for an authority figure, or any kind of structured situation. These dedicated teachers, who do not get paid a big salary, do the best they can every day, because they care. In this article, they mentioned “disciplinary” problems. I think that people should take responsibility for their own children’s behavior, before blaming someone else.
I think that we have become a society of “let’s blame someone else” for things that we are clearly responsible for at home, where discipline, manners, and respect should begin.
