In response to the letters written by Mr. and Mrs. Cimerblatt and Ms. Kendrick, I would like to offer this for their consideration: Lake Pinehurst is a private lake.

Those who are not members are not allowed access to the lake and ponds. If I'm going to be taxed for something, I need something to show for it.

I’m not opposed to a $5.12-per-year tax to repair the ponds if I am then allowed to recreate and enjoy the lake I’m being taxed for.

Simple enough right? Until then, those who enjoy the benefits need to pay the piper.
